BB King
Overview
A request by the Krewe of Harambee (a Shreveport, LA Mardi Gras Krewe) was called in for the 2015 theme 'Down Home Blues' for the fabrication of a 'larger than life' B.B. King figure. Naturally, our secret weapon was called in, Johnny of Big As Art, for his blues appreciation, musical background, and nearly limitless knowledge and ability in both the visual and musical arts. A few short weeks later this spectacular Mardi Gras float sculpture, complete with B.B.'s 'Lucille' guitar was created. Even before the parade, a fine time was had as we savored Johnny's playing the blues on both harp and guitar while working collectively and, receiving tutelage from 'The Master.'
